What is Sandys Designz?
Sandys Designz was established in February 2006. I started selling auction templates on eBay.
Sandys Designz has grown over time.
I am 110% dedicated to this job and my aim has always been simple, to provide
outstanding customer service and that all my customers go away happy with the
service that I have provided throughout their order process.
I am now a freelance web designer who absolutely loves her job! I also enjoy other creative activities, such as learning to draw my own illustrations. I also love reading,
family time, interior design and
as you carry on reading below you will realise that I am an animal lover, and
have a special love for dogs.
Who is behind Sandys Designz?
As you have gathered by now my name is Sandy. I married Ray on the 22nd of
August 1998. I am the proud mum to one gorgeous son who was born in 2000. He's a lovely little boy, and the apple of my eye.
We live in North London, England. I was born in Islington, not to far from the Arsenal football Stadium, I hear some of you moan..lol.
I am an avid dog lover,
I first owned a fur kid when I was 11, my mum finally agreed that I could have a
pup, as long as I took full responsibility for it. Judy was a cross Lercher, I
loved that dog to bits, and a few years later my sister's dog had pups so I
begged and pleaded with mum and that's when Tina, 2nd fur kid came along. Judy
and Tina loved one and another, it's a myth that bitches fight, they used to
cuddle up to one and another and Judy was like a mum to Tina. The novelty never
wore off caring for them, and Judy passed away aged 14 years and Tina 13 years.
When Tina died I was devastated, I had had her from a teenager, by this time I
was married and expecting my son. I tried to re-home a rescue dog, however
because I was pregnant they wouldn't allow it, at the time I was upset but
looking back in hindsight I understand why, as so many have the baby and the
dogs basically gets booted out.
That's when
Ruby, 3rd
fur kid came along, my husband bought her for me, Roobs is a Cavalier King
Charles spaniel, she is 11 years old now, she is a lovely dog and I love her to bits,
she has a great character and is wonderful with children. If I had my way I
would have more dogs, all rescue if possible
I can't stand animal cruelty in any way, shape or form.
We also have a black hamster
called DJ, he's a little cutie as well, he was so nervous when we bought him at
6 weeks old, now all I have to do is go to the cage and out he pops ready to
climb on my hand. He is my son's pet, however as you will have guessed mummy now
looks after him..lol.. which all said and done I don't mind, he's no trouble.
Since leaving school I worked in retail pharmacy for 15 years. I gave that up to
become a full time mum to Jack. Since then I have had major Back problems. I have had two
operations to repair the lower disc; the last operation back in 2005 was to insert
a titanium metal cage. Thankfully the second operation worked better then the
first, although still in a bit of pain now and again, nothing like before, where
I could be laid up for weeks. Due to the back problems I now have
osteoarthritis, so doing this job is a lifeline for me as I couldn't go back to
the job I had done for all those years
Sandy's background
I created my first Auction template in 2006 and the whole process was something
I had learned on my own. It wasn't easy and there were times when I wouldn't
sleep as I had to have everything perfect. I worked nearly 50 hours a week in
the early days. As things progressed, I started creating websites and got better
and better and then I was hooked. Most of my sites are designed for artists who
create reborn babies. I then got into creating websites for those that wanted to
open up their online business venture.
In 2007, I opened my own ecommerce website and made my first attempt at having a steady income. In 2007, my freelance business became my full-time job that I am still enjoying and love today!
Along the way I have made some really good
online friends, one of them is Karen from
Karenz Designz. Karen has been my customer since day one, starting back in 2006 and I owe a lot to her and her son Sam who at a young age is very talented in web design and always gave me tips and was always at hand when things went wrong.. There were times when I wanted to give up but no, Karen and her Son, Sam got me through. She's a good mate and we gossip on the phone as much as possible...lol..
Web design is very rewarding for me, not just financially but I get a great satisfaction of pleasing others. My portfolio grows by the day and I have had some lovely comments from my customers over the last year.
And finally
All my designs ARE my own ideas, I have been accused
when I first started out for copying other peoples work which is total rubbish. I don't need to copy anybody
else as I have so many creative ideas of my own. At times some remarks have upset me but now I have learned to live with
them. Some people don't like competition, and it's a shame that they can become
so insecure and try and make your life a misery as they feel I am a threat to
them. I have risen above this and just carry on with what I a love doing with a
passion!
Thanks for visiting my
